Meet Mark

I first experienced East Asian medicine as a professional tour guide leading groups throughout China in 1982. I traveled extensively throughout China, Japan, and S.E. Asia and became so deeply fascinated by their culture and traditions, it transformed how I viewed the world and medicine!

  • 1997 NW Institute of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (NIAOM)
  • 2000  M.Ac. Master’s Degree in Acupuncture
  • 2000 NCCAOM — Nationally Board Certified Acupuncturist
  • 2000 Licensed East Asian Medicine Practitioner  AC #686
  • American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine   ABORM requires extensive post graduate study in the reproductive health of women and men, from a western and eastern perspective.  This combination of knowledge is absolutely essential for appropriate and effective diagnosis and treatment in this complex area of healthcare.

My interests include skiing, white water and sea kayaking, music, mountain biking, backpacking, learning, cooking healthy food for friends and family. A common theme throughout this site are stacks of balanced rocks. I stack rocks as an exercise in meditation. It requires me to become acutely aware of any tension or conflicts in my body and mind. I hope you enjoy the photos of my rock stacking meditations.

“When you have the opportunity to travel widely, you begin to get a glimpse of other philosophies, other ways of seeing things. I am deeply humbled and extremely grateful to the many teachers that have patiently shared their insights with me over the years.”  Mark Elgee
